Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch is the seventh major video game console developed by Nintendo. Known in development by its codename NX, it was unveiled in October 2016 and was released worldwide on March 3, 2017. Nintendo considers the Switch a "hybrid" console; it is designed primarily as a home console, with the main unit inserted into a docking station to connect to a television. Alternatively, it can be removed from the dock and used similarly to a tablet computer through its LCD touchscreen, or placed in a standalone tabletop mode visible to several players. The Switch uses Joy-Con wireless controllers, which include standard buttons and a directional joystick for user input, motion sensing, and high-definition tactile feedback. The Joy-Con can attach to both sides of the console to support handheld-style play, connect to a Grip accessory to provide a traditional home console gamepad form or be used individually in the hand like the Wii Remote, supporting local multiplayer modes. The Switch's software supports online gaming through standard Internet connectivity, as well as local wireless ad-hoc connectivity with other Switch consoles. Switch games and software are available on both physical flash ROM cartridges and digital distribution; the system does not use region locking. The Switch competes on the console gaming market with contemporaries Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One.

iPhone X

It’s real, it’s here, and it’s very expensive. The iPhone X is a radical departure from the form factor of every other iPhone out there, including the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. It comes with a jet-black edge-to-edge OLED screen topped by a True Detect camera system that enables a brand-new Face ID unlocking system and Animoji features.
Apple revealed the iPhone X during the company’s annual fall press event in September, after months of rumor and speculation, followed by the biggest pre-launch leak ever.
You have questions about the iPhone X, and we have answers. Here’s what you need to know about the iPhone X.

iPhone X: Price, colors, storage

The iPhone X starts at $999 for 64GB of storage, which is the highest starting price of any iPhone to date.
  • 64GB: $699
  • 256GB: $1149
To compare, the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 is $699 for the same storage. The iPhone X is available in silver and space grey (sorry, gold fans—that finish is reserved for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus).

iPhone X: Order information

The iPhone X is now available for purchase, but you may not get one right away. As of this writing, if you go to Apple.com and order an iPhone X, the company says the phone will ship in 2-3 weeks, suggesting that rumors of limited supply were true. Apple has said demand for iPhone X has been “off the charts,” but hasn’t released any specific pre-order numbers.
You could try your luck by visiting your local Apple store; they have limited stock. If you go through the ordering process online, you can see if the iPhone X is available at the Apple store near you.

Samsung Galaxy S8

The Samsung Galaxy S8Samsung Galaxy S8+ and Samsung Galaxy S8 Active (shortened to S8 and S8+, respectively) are Android smartphones produced by Samsung Electronics as part of the Samsung Galaxy S series. Unveiled on 29 March 2017, they succeed the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, with a North American release on 21 April 2017 and UK availability on 28 April 2017.
The S8 and S8+ contain upgraded hardware and major design changes over their predecessors, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, including larger screens with a taller aspect ratio and curved sides on both the smaller and larger models, iris and face recognition, a new suite of virtual assistant features known as Bixby (along with a new dedicated physical button for launching the assistant), and a docking station accessory that allows the phones to be used with a personal computer-styled desktop interface with keyboard and mouse input support.

The S8 and S8+ received mostly positive reviews. Their design and form factor received praise, while critics also liked the updated software and camera optimizations. They received criticism for duplicate software apps, lackluster Bixby features at launch, for the placement of the fingerprint sensor on the rear next to the camera and for poor biometric options for unlocking the phone. Videos published after the phones' release have proven that the devices' facial recognition can be fooled by suitable photographs of the user.
The S8 and S8+ were in high demand at release. During the pre-order period, a record one million units were booked in South Korea, and overall sales numbers were 30% higher than the Galaxy S7. However, subsequent reports in May announced sales of over five million units, a notably lower first-month sales number than previous Galaxy S series models.

Nintendo produced and sold about 2.3 million NES Classic Editions from November 2016 through April 2017, with shipments selling out nearly immediately. In April 2017, Nintendo announced they were discontinuing the product, leading to console confusion on the decision and price gouging for what remaining units there were. Shortly after announcing the Super NES Classic Edition in September 2017, Nintendo affirmed it will produce more NES Classic Editions starting in mid-2018.

Amazon Echo (shortened and referred to as Echo) is a brand of smart speakers developed by Amazon.com. The devices connect to the voice-controlled intelligent personal assistant service Alexa, which responds to the name "Alexa". This "wake word" can be changed by the user to "Amazon", "Echo" or "Computer". The device is capable of voice interaction, music playback, making to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audiobooks, and providing weather, traffic, and other real-time information. It can also control several smart devices using itself as a home automation hub.
Amazon had been developing Echo devices inside its Lab126 offices in Silicon Valley and Cambridge, Massachusetts since at least 2010 in confirmed reports. The device was part of Amazon’s first attempts to expand its device portfolio beyond the Kindle e-reader. The Echo was prominently featured in Amazon's first-ever Super Bowl ad in 2016.
The first-generation Echo was initially limited to Amazon Prime members or by invitation but became widely available in the United States on June 23, 2015. Press speculated that it would make its Canadian debut in mid-to-late 2016 after Amazon posted job listings for developers for Alexa and co-hosted a hackathon in Toronto. The Echo became available in the United Kingdom on 28 September 2016.Additionally, the Alexa voice service is available to be added to other devices and other companies' devices and services are encouraged to connect to it.

The Xbox One line mainly competes against consoles such as Sony's PlayStation 4 and Nintendo's Wii U and Switch.
In August 2016, Microsoft released a refreshed Xbox One model, Xbox One S, which has a streamlined design, native support for 4K video playback and upscaling, and HDR10 high-dynamic-range color. It was praised for its smaller size, its on-screen visual improvements, and its lack of an external power supply, but its regressions such as the lack of a native Kinect port were noted. A high-end model, Xbox One X, was unveiled in June 2017 and released in November, which features major hardware upgrades focused on enabling games to be rendered at 4K resolution.
