Leaked list reveals which Samsung phones will get Android 8.0 Oreo
It has been over three months since Google officially unveiled the Android 8.0 Oreo and while many of the Android partners have revealed which of their devices will get the Oreo update, Samsung is yet to do so. Despite being the biggest manufacturer of Android phones, Samsung has never been transparent about the Android updates.

Android 8.0 Oreo features
This is a list of features that you can expect to see on your Android phone after updating to Android Oreo.
Improve boot time: Your Android phone will power on faster with Oreo. According to Google, the boot times have been halved in Android 8.0.
Background limits: Google has put limits on running the apps in the background. With Oreo, the applications will not be able to continuously run in the background when they are not being actively used or showing a notification that they are running. The limits on the background activity should improve the overall performance of your phone, including improving the battery backup.
Autofill for passwords: Google has added an inbuilt password manager in Android 8.0. With your permission, this password manager can remember your passwords and autofill them in the applications when needed. It will also work with the passwords that you have already saved in Chrome.

With Oreo, Google is taking security measures a step further. “Google Play Protect continuously works to keep your device, data and apps safe. It actively scans your device and is constantly improving to make sure that you have the latest in mobile security,” explains Google. What’s even better than Google Play Protect is not just limited to Oreo, but will be available on all Android devices.

Notification Badges
Like iOS, Android is also getting Notification Dots with Oreo. If you have a pending notification about any app, it will appear at a dot over the app icon. If you don’t like dots, you will be able to disable them in settings.
Autofill with Google

Google is bringing its autofill technology from Chrome to Android. It will allow users to synchronize their usernames/ passwords and seamlessly fill them at the time of logging into apps. No longer copying and pasting passwords from password managers or remembering them.
Picture-in-Picture: This feature will allow you to see two apps at once. It is not same as multi-window. Picture-in-Picture keeps open an app in a pop-up window while you are checking out another app or just using the home screen or app launcher on your phone. It will be mainly available in video players, navigations apps, and video chat apps.
Notification dots: In Oreo, the app icons will show little dots on top if you have any unread notifications from that app.Tapping that dot will take you to notification shade to show the pending notification.
New emojis: In addition to fully redesigning the emojis set, Google has added over 60 new emojis in Android 8.0 Oreo.
Integrated printing support: The Oreo update enhances Android’s built-in printing support. You will no longer need to install custom plugins to support your printer with Android printing feature. Oreo supports almost 97% of printers sold worldwide right out of the box.
Wi-Fi Assistant: Until available only with Pixel phones, Wi-Fi Assistant automatically connects you to verified open Wi-Fi hotspots around the globe. It also uses a VPN, so your internet usage is safe and secure.
Since most Android phone manufacturers including Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony, Huawei, and Oppo include their own features with the updates to differentiate, your Android phone might get more (sometimes less depending on older hardware limitations) features than the following, so don’t treat this as an exhaustive list of Oreo update changes for your phone. However, this will still give you a fair idea of what to expect from your Android phone’s Oreo update. To be fair, the company is already working on Android 8.0 updates and has even released the Oreo beta for Galaxy S8 and S8+, but the lack of a definite list of the Oreo-upgradeable devices is just baffling.
Now, we have a leaked list of Samsung Android devices, which will allegedly get the Android Oreo update. Although ‘i ice universe’ has a decent record of leaks, there is no way to authenticate this list, so please take this with a pinch of salt.
As per the list, Samsung will update 36 of its devices to Android 8.0 including the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, which was recently reported to be getting the Oreo update in another leak, even though they are over two-years-old. The list also includes unannounced 2018 A-series smartphones, which as per the leaks, are coming with Android Nougat on-board. You can check out the full list at the end of the report.
Some of the notable devices in the list are Galaxy A8 (2016), Galaxy A9 Pro (2016), Galaxy J7 (2016), Galaxy Tab A (2016) and Galaxy C7. All of these were released in 2016 and some of them are way over two-years-old.
